Emap Publishing is a prominent media and events company, renowned for producing high-profile industry events. They are responsible for organising the World Architecture Festival, a prestigious annual event that recognises architectural excellence and innovation on a global scale.
Challenge
Production Live was brought on board to manage the World Architecture Festival 2022, following the abrupt withdrawal of the initial supplier. The primary challenges were:
- Last-Minute Transition: We stepped in with limited notice, requiring rapid assessment and action to ensure all aspects of the event were handled effectively.
- Extensive Technical Management: Our role included managing all technical aspects, from coordinating with multiple suppliers to overseeing complex logistics and setup. This involved negotiating contracts and managing technical resources both in the UK and abroad.
- Complex Event Layout: The event featured 2 main stages and 17 workshop stages, each requiring unique technical setups. This included two-way streaming for remote participants and Zoom calls, which needed to be seamlessly integrated with the live event experience.
Outcome
Production Live successfully delivered on all fronts, achieving the following:
- Effective Project Management: We expertly negotiated with technical suppliers, managing to cut costs and streamline operations, which resulted in significant financial savings for Emap Publishing.
- Enhanced Staffing and Coordination: A dedicated team of 7 Production Live staff worked alongside a local team of about 50, ensuring that all technical requirements were met and any issues were resolved promptly.
- Flawless Event Execution: Our team managed the setup and operation of 2 main stages and 17 workshop stages, all equipped with two-way streaming capabilities and Zoom integration. The successful execution of these complex technical requirements ensured a smooth event experience for both in-person and virtual attendees.
