The challenge for this project involved:
- Complex FX Requirements: The “dream sequence” in Season 2, Episode 5 required intricate special effects to be executed flawlessly. This involved integrating high-powered projection technology with lighting effects to achieve the desired visual impact.
- High-Quality Technical Support: The sequence demanded precise technical execution, including the rigging of multiple projectors and the coordination of various video and lighting elements. The goal was to ensure a seamless integration of these components to meet the production’s creative vision.
- Tight Schedule: The sequence was to be rigged and filmed over a two-day period, requiring efficient planning and execution to adhere to the production schedule.
Outcome
Production Live provided comprehensive technical support and video services for the sequence, achieving the following:
- Advanced Projection Setup: We rigged four 20,000-lumen projectors with various lenses to deliver high-quality visuals. Our team worked closely with the lighting department to ensure that the special effects were integrated effectively into the scene.
- Technical Equipment Provision: We supplied essential equipment, including scalers and video players, and assisted with the video sequence playback system. This ensured that all technical aspects were covered and contributed to a smooth production process.
- Efficient Execution: The entire sequence was rigged and shot within the allocated two-day period at a disused university campus in South Wales. Our team’s coordination and technical expertise ensured that the shots were completed as planned and assembled in good time.
