Emirates is a leading global airline based in Dubai, renowned for its exceptional service and extensive international network. As part of its commitment to innovation and engaging with audiences, Emirates sought to create an impactful activation for Expo 2020 Dubai.
Challenge
In collaboration with UK and UAE partners, Projection Artworks contracted Production Live to manage the design and delivery of a two-phase pop-up activation for Expo 2020 Dubai on their behalf. The project brief required us to deliver a highly interactive and creative installation suitable for all ages. Key requirements included:
- Interactivity and Creativity: The activation needed to be engaging and innovative, incorporating features that would captivate audiences of all ages.
- Sustainability: The design had to utilise local and sustainable materials, reflecting environmental consciousness.
- Mobility: Given that the installation was to be used in both indoor and outdoor locations across Dubai, the design had to facilitate easy transport and deployment.
We were responsible for overseeing the project from initial design through to execution, ensuring that all requirements were met while working under the direction of Projection Artworks.
Outcome
Production Live’s role involved extensive project management duties, including:
- Design and Procurement: We supported the initial design phase in the UK and managed the procurement of local manufacturing in the UAE. This phase included input on materials and design to ensure sustainability and mobility.
- Project Management: We coordinated all aspects of the project lifecycle, from overseeing the build design to ensuring seamless transport and deployment.
- Deployment: The pop-up was successfully deployed across various high-profile locations in Dubai, including Dubai Mall and the International Airport. Both phases of the project were executed with a focus on high visibility and impact.
The project was executed to a high standard, meeting all logistical and creative requirements, and showcasing the activation in prominent Dubai locations.
